A work in progress for one of my personal projects. Call it a warmup before real work. :)

Just a quickie for a concept tag activity over at polycount.com. I picked up the ball from this image: http://i35.tinypic.com/2u7ta2e.jpg

'Twas fun!

There's a new love in my life.

She's slender, sleek, to the point and very smooth. She's a SKB SB-1000 ballpoint pen. She doesn't make me draw any better, but she makes me wanna draw all the time!

Sorry mech pencil, you've been replaced! By a $1 dollar ballpoint pen.. :P Those are the breaks i guess..

Apes and Babes

Two works in progress, one photo study and another one of those weird linedrawing thingies.. :P My friend Devin is visiting, and he's giving me a lot of tips and tricks on how to properly use layers and stuff.. Which is still an alien concept to someone who's used to paint, flatten layers, paint flatten layers and so on and so forth.. He also keeps repeating "draw through the form!" in an increasingly exasperated tone of voice.. One of these days i suspect it'll stick, and I'll actually start doing that. ;)

Oil painting from life!

Today i finally got my hands dirty with oils! I've never done any traditional painting before, except from a little playing around. I had a lot of fun, and oil paint is a very interesting medium. I obviously have a lot to learn still, but i'm very happy with my results after 4-5 hours of painting. This is definately something I'd wanna explore further!
Thanks to Laoura for sitting still all that time!

Style exploration

Did a 1 hour thunderdome vs Luis (maxetormer), the topic was "witch". He showed me some stuff earlier today that really inspired me, so i tried something very different from what i usually do. It was a lot of fun, and very strange, working on properly named layers and everything.. usually i just flatten and mess everything up. ;)

There's some mistakes, the most obvious one being the different lenght of the legs, but i'm pretty happy with it for a 1 hour piece. Lesson learned: Next time I'll spend more time getting the basics right in the sketch stage, before even considering ink and color!

Thanks for playing Luis, it was a lot of fun!
